Chokeberry
Chokeberry is a branching shrub which produces black fruits in September.
In food industry chokeberries are used to produce juice, dried berries and berry powders as well as to grain and dairy products. Chokeberries are rich in pectin which makes them an excellent ingredient for jams, jellies and marmelades. Chokeberries make an delicious combination with e.g. blackcurrants. By-product fractions in berry processing are suitable for example for animal feed and cosmetic applications.
Chokeberries contains e.g. vitamin C and E and also fibre.
Kiantama’s chokeberries come from berry farms where the berries have been grown responsibly and with respect for nature. Depending of the harvest season and availability chokeberries are e.g. from Poland or Lithuania. Berries are also available in organic quality depending on the product range.
