Cloudberry
The cloudberry is a perennial herb that grows in bogs. It is 10–25 cm tall. Once ripe, the amber-coloured berry can be easily removed from its base. The picking season for cloudberries begins in the middle of July or in early August.
Cloudberries are a rich source of vitamin C. Cloudberries also contain vitamin E in larger quantities than many fruits and grains. Cloudberry seed oil is particularly rich in vitamin E. Of all the wild berries, cloudberries contain the most fibre.
Cloudberries can be made into jams, juices, berry soups and desserts. The valuable seed oil is also used in the production of cosmetics.
Depending of the harvest season and availability the cloudberries are Finnish or Swedish, origin, grown in natural bogs. Cloudberries are also available in organic quality depending on the product range.
